Mission and objectives

The sector-specific research institute supports Kazakhstan’s refining and petrochemical industries through research, engineering expertise, testing, standardization and professional training.

Establishment

The Research Institute of Oil Refining and Petrochemistry LLP was established on 29 January 2026 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the D.V. Sokolsky Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry JSC.

Leadership

General Director — Murat Zhurinov, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.
